Apollo 14 Lunar Surface Flown Lunar Surface Safety Line Covers

APOLLOSPACE is pleased to offer a collection of Apollo 14 “Orbit Covers” Lunar Landing event covers which have been affixed with a remnant piece of flown Lunar Surface Safety Line that landed on the surface of the Moon on February 5, 1971, aboard the Lunar Module Antares and was carried on the Lunar surface by the Apollo 14 astronauts, Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell, during the course of their two EVAs, lasting over 9 hours and 22 minutes. The original 100-foot-long Lunar Surface Safety Line was returned to Earth on February 9, 1971, and was cut up into 1-inch strips that were affixed to laminated souvenir cards that were distributed to NASA personnel. A one-inch strip of lunar surface flown safety line was removed from one such card, cut into 15 strips measuring approximately 1/4-inch x 1/15th-inch and affixed to fifteen Apollo 14 Lunar Landing covers marked as Nos. 1-15, Series A14-1. Offered exclusively by APOLLOSPACE. Lunar Surface flown material is the rarest of the rare and available here for a fraction of the cost.
