Description
This large remnant of Apollo 13 flown Kapton foil, Remnant GA3A-B, was originally part of the protective insulation of the Apollo 13 Command Module, “Odyssey,” and was flown in space to the Moon from April 11-17, 1970. This flown Kapton foil remnant was originally auctioned by Goldberg Auctions from the personal collection of NASA Production Control Engineer William Whipkey (see accompanying letter of authenticity from Sandy Clarkson of “Goldberg Auctions”) and subsequently purchased by APOLLOSPACE.
The Kapton foil originally consisted of one very large remnant, as seen in the first image below. This remnant was separated leaving the remnant appearing in Image #2 as Remnant GA3-B.
Apollo 13 Flown Kapton Foil REMNANT GA3-B measures approximately 4.25 x 2.25 (at widest) inches and is authentic in all respects.
