Description
This large remnant of Apollo 11 flown Kapton foil, A11-KAPTONFOIL-RS2-B, was originally part of the protective insulation of the Apollo 11 Command Module, “Columbia,” and was flown in space to the Moon from July 16-24, 1969. This flown Kapton foil remnant was originally produced by The Right Stuff from the personal collection of NASA Production Control Engineer William Whipkey (see accompanying images) and included two (2) larger-sized multi-layered remnants which were purchased by APOLLOSPACE and separated into separate remnants as pictured in the gallery images. The large-sized Apollo 11 flown Kapton foil remnant accompanying this Letter, marked as A11-KAPTONFOIL-RS2-B, measures approximately 3 x 2 inches in size. Full provenance provided along with APOLLOSPACE Letter of Authenticity.
