Description

This large remnant of Apollo 11 flown Kapton foil, A11-KaptonFoil-GOLDBERG-D, was originally part of the protective insulation of the Apollo 11 Command Module, “Columbia,” and was flown in space to the Moon from July 16-24, 1969. This flown Kapton foil remnant was originally auctioned by Goldberg Auctioneers from the personal collection of NASA Production Control Engineer William Whipkey (see accompanying images) and included four (4) large-sized remnants which were purchased by APOLLOSPACE and marked as Remnants A through D as pictured in the images. This large-sized Apollo 11 flown Kapton foil remnant, A11-KaptonFoil-GOLDBERG-D, measures approximately 3.5 x 1.5 inches in size.
