Description
Apollo 9 Astronauts Rusty Schweickart and Jim McDivitt signed “Apollo 9 10 Days in Space” cover which has been affixed with a .25-inch remnant piece of Apollo 9 Kapton foil that was originally part of the protective insulation of the Apollo 9 Lunar Module “Spider,” and was flown in space to the moon from March 3-13, 1969. The Kapton from which the attached remnant was cut was originally from the personal collection of and was retrieved by Rusty Schweickart during the Apollo 9 mission and sourced from a larger remnant sold by him through Heritage Auctions May 2018, as Lot # 50940.
