This large remnant of Apollo 11 flown Kapton foil, Remnant 1C, was originally part of the protective insulation of the Apollo 11 Command Module, “Columbia,” and was flown in space to the Moon from July 16-24, 1969. This flown Kapton foil remnant was originally auctioned by Goldberg Auctioneers from the personal collection of NASA Production Control Engineer William Whipkey (see accompanying images) which included four (4) large-sized remnants that were purchased by APOLLOSPACE and marked as Remnants 1A through 1D as pictured in the gallery images.
